Portrait and Wedding Photography Fees

The following is an overview of my Portrait and Wedding Photography fees for work in Canberra and Queanbeyan. For other locations please Contact me to discuss your requirements.

Rather than offering specific packages, I charge for my and my assistant’s time at a reducing hourly rate and tailor my services specifically for you. This allows you to choose a level of coverage to suit your budget.

Individual, Couple and Family Portrait Fee

Group and individual portraits for up to 5 family members – from $350.00.
Includes approximately 1 hour of photography and the following 8 prints:

- 5 x 4” x 6”
- 2 x 6” x 8”
- 1 x 8” x 12”

Prior to confirming your booking I request we meet briefly to discuss and agree on your requirements. To book your portrait session I require a non-refundable $200.00 booking fee, which will be deducted from my total fee. (If you need to change your booking and my bookings allow, the non-refundable booking fee is transferable).

Please note: Rather than shooting my portraits in a studio I prefer to meet at a local park or other suitable location. Saturday portrait bookings may not always be available.

Additional print prices:

- 4” x 6” from $2.50
- 6” x 8” from $9.60
- 8” x 12” from $15.20

Wedding Photography Fees

Examples of my Wedding Photography fees are below.

Prior to accepting your booking I request we meet briefly to discuss and agree on your requirements. I can then provide you with a fixed fee to cover the agreed coverage. My minimum wedding booking is 2 hours.

I will only ever book a single wedding for a specific date, therefore, my 2 and 4 hour wedding photography fees are higher to compensate for the lost opportunities in accepting a 2 or 4 hour booking.

- 2 Hours - $855.00
- 4 hours - $1205.00
- 6 hours - $1465.00
- 8 hours - $1665.00
- 10 hours - $1905.00 (includes free “get to know you” shoot (value $300.00))

My attendance fees include a boxed set of individually numbered 4” x 6” proof prints of the photographs taken at your wedding (maximum 450). I provide these proofs in a presentation box rather than in book or album form as I find this makes it easier to select your favourite photographs for your wedding album. This does not preclude you from trimming the numbers off the photographs and putting them in an album yourself.

If your wedding is to be held in Canberra or Queanbeyan and you book for 10 hours or more I will include at no extra cost a one hour “get to know you” photo shoot (value $300.00). This must be booked when you book me to take your Wedding Photographs and is available within the period between 12 and 4 weeks prior to your wedding day.

As a guide, depending on locations and travel time between venues, 8 - 10 hours should enable me to cover:

- The bride getting ready at home
- The wedding ceremony
- Formals of the bridal party
- Reception beginning

To secure your wedding date I require a non-refundable $550.00 booking fee, which will be deducted from my total fee. (If you need to change your booked wedding date and my bookings allow, the non-refundable booking fee is transferable).

The options on how your photographs are presented are only limited by your imagination. I can provide you with a disk of digital photographs to print yourself, work with you to design an heirloom collection of handcrafted photographs, or anything in between.

We can explore and discuss the options and fees with you when we meet.

For example:

- Proof books start at $320
- Albums start at $950
- A disk of low-resolution JPEG files suitable for emailing to family and friends is $350
- A disk of high-resolution JPEG files suitable for making your own prints is $550
- A disk of the Digital Negatives is $550.

- 8” x 12” from $15.20

As well as albums and framed prints I can also provide you with digital slideshows – but hasten to point out that these may not have the same life span as a printed photograph. The reason for this is simple. Formats and technologies change, and are doing so at ever more rapid rates. In 1990 nearly every home had a VHS player, in 2002 it was the DVD player, now you will find an iPad, therefore, I recommend caution before investing money in such presentations.
